Shitty work, Yummy food

In a blinking of an eye, our very last summer vacation of our student's life is going to be over in a couple of weeks time. After this, it would be our final undergraduate year and then it would be time to start hunting for jobs. Yikes...

It's like the 2nd week of July now, and work this month hasn't been a very happy one, especially with that old donkey spoiling my mood in lab ever since last week. It just feels like that old donkey has stolen all the happiness and laughter from me whenever I'm in lab. I don't even know why I am embroiled in such office politics. And not to mention some issues that have been brought up very discreetly these few weeks, many uncertainties in the near future. Rargh...

Work has been really busy too. Really really busy... Wanna see the CBD area of our cell culture room?

Ever seen liquid nitrogen? Well you can't really see liquid nitrogen since they evaporate into the gaseous state at very low temperatures... and liquid nitrogen is extremely cold and it kind of "bites". Everytime I go collect liquid nitrogen, I find it amusing that we have to let the tank take the lift back down on its own in the fireman lift! And I have to either climb down the stairs or take the passenger lift to the same floor, walk to the fireman lift and retrieve the tank. I just found out the reason recently. It's because that if the lift breaks down and you're in the lift with liquid nitrogen for a long period of time, you will begin to hallucinate. Cool huh?

*So you see smoke while refilling a liquid nitrogen tank*

Anyway, a sucky day should end with a great dinner to cheer myself up. Brought my family to Brotzeit in Vivocity last Friday to eat. A pity Ms SLC couldn't join us... next time next time. Yeah, back to Brotzeit. To initiate all of you, brotzeit is German for "Bread Time", from I have learnt, correct me if I'm wrong. It's basically a german beer bar and cafe. I wanted to go there because I wanted to try out their pork knuckles!! It's a dish that is not on the menu hence only those who know of it would order it. So friends, now you know that there is a pork knuckle dish, go ahead and try it! My parents loved it so much, that we had a 2nd order for it. Some of the food come with this side dish which is called Sauerkraut, which I have tried in Vienna and Prague before, kinda sour but nice, it's the white vegetable side dish in the pork knuckle picture below. The best part of the dinner was the beer, since I felt so frustrated at work so I thought a little alcohol with the nice ambience helped to chill me out a lil'.

I think I'm really getting fatter... Too much eating this vacation! Everyday it's work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep.... (feels like expanding Binomial Theorem).

For those who haven't been to Jurong Point for donkey years, here's an update for all of you!! The basement 1 level has been extended!! Go towards where Ichiban Sushi was before, yes.. WAS. Now they have an extension that seems like a Japanese village. It's all Japanese restaurants in there, and Kuishin Bo is there too!!!! This Kuishin Bo is way much better than the outlet in Suntec City! Like seriously yes, way much better. The food is really too good to resist. I ate till I almost puked.

The moment I stepped down from the escalator, I turned into touristy mode and began taking pictures of the place.

*Don't know why it's called Shokutsu 10'*

*These soft shell crabs (ignore the shell food) are my new addiction*

*Never miss this*

*Pretty layout*

*Desserts!*
