Ever wondered why the action of seizing (a vehicle) by force is termed 'hijack' ?

Seriously, I have no idea why too.

Imagine me boarding a plane one day, and I spot my friend, whose name is Jack (or even Jac for my female friend), from far and I shout over, "Hi Jack (Jac)!!!"

Oh gosh...
