Commencement and Convocation

The past few weeks have seen many of my friends graduating with their Bachelor degrees. Kinda sad that I won't get to see them in school anymore, but happy for them as they are finally able to get out and start earning big bucks (and of course treat me when they receive their first paychecks). But so far... hmm none yet. HAHA. C'mon friends, good luck with your job hunting for those who are still jobless.

So, the SMU Commencement came first, held at Suntec City... yeah yeah with all the news that this batch of SMU graduands is the largest one so far. Freaking used up almost all the convention halls haha and had to run about everywhere to find friends from the different faculties.

*SMU Commencement 2008*

*Happened to see the unveiling of the Colours for the NE Show*

*Yunnerd! Yun Huimin - starting work in PWC this Sept*

*Clement Shen - faster get a job and stop partying alr*

*Yuhui (good luck with the applications) and Ben (in Mitsui)*

*Yicui (Bank of Tokyo)*

Then came the NTU Convocation a couple of weeks ago... yeah yeah guess what, this is also the largest cohort so far. Haha.

*Buttdy Emily!! Slacker, starting work in KPMG only in Sept*

*Xiumei at Ernst & Young - no nid to sleep*

*Kevin - also good luck with the applications*

And of course, there is the "returning to Hall to take photos together" and yeah, the non-graduands like me, we end up being photographers again.

*I like this shot - Xiumei, Emy, Natalie, Zinc, Laona*

*And I like this one too!*

Happy graduation to all my friends :D

一切完美

The final episode of <<一切完美>> (Perfect Cut) just ended. What Thomas Ong said to end the show off really is meaningful, but how many of us could actually do it when the need to do so arises? I guess I've always been trying to achieve that, but I can't say that I've done it perfectly. Still I've always done my best I guess :D

"If you can tolerate imperfection, there would be perfection"
- 如果能包容一切,就会一切完美了 -

This is really one great show. It's like, it features things that doctors don't usually tell ya. Hope that a great show like this one would be out soon too.

End of my last summer vacation

It's approximately 11 hours more to the end of my last ever undergrad summer vacation!!

Taking a one-week module (Bioentrepreneurship), which begins tomorrow with an orientation day. And then it will be HELL week from Monday to Friday for us. Hmm, I wonder who my group members would be since Nanyang Technopreneur Centre would be the one grouping us. I hope I get to work with really wonderful group members.

But well, at least there's something wonderful to look forward to. The course content has been released and I think I would be able to learn many useful skills from it, and of course I would be down with one module even before the actual semester starts *grinz*, and and and not forgetting that it's non-examinable. Ah, factors that are bonuses for taking this module at least.

So guys, while you're enjoying the Hall FOC, don't forget about me ah!! I'm having my Hell week!! HAHA. Ah, nvm, not like anyone would really care haha.

Oh oh, and here's a video made from scenes from the Japanese Version of Hana Kimi. Not that I'm gay because this video features the male character of the show, but I think he really is the reason (and of course together with Maki Horikita, the female star who plays Lu Ruixi) that the show is really worth watching. It is totally hilarious and much better than the Taiwanese version I feel. And the video has the OST for the show as well, which I totally love.

Okay, that's all I guess... Back to School! Happy schooling mk (Self-talk that my Mind Over Stress lecturer taught) :)

石欣卉 — 你没想像中爱我

I like this song... But... it's kind of heart-wrenching, especially when the video scene used is that of the episode last week.

Final Fantasy XIII

Whoever said that Square-Enix would not collaborate with Microsoft? Well, guess what. Final Fantasy XIII has been released in the US and Europe already, based on the friggin' Microsoft Xbox 360 console! The PS3 version would only be released exclusively in Japan. Geez...

But anyhows, I hope somehow, there would be a PC version of the game, because I really am looking forward to it after having missed out on playing FF 9-12. Final Fantasy 8 was awesome but those following it weren't that good. So I shall pray hard for a PC version to appear somewhere :D I have no $$$ to get a Xbox 360!!

Holy Mama

My goodness... I couldn't believe it when I first watched the video!

But seeing is believing.. This is Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, from SMAP!!

Can't recall who, or what, SMAP is? Check this out to jolt your memory a little :D

Shitty work, Yummy food

In a blinking of an eye, our very last summer vacation of our student's life is going to be over in a couple of weeks time. After this, it would be our final undergraduate year and then it would be time to start hunting for jobs. Yikes...

It's like the 2nd week of July now, and work this month hasn't been a very happy one, especially with that old donkey spoiling my mood in lab ever since last week. It just feels like that old donkey has stolen all the happiness and laughter from me whenever I'm in lab. I don't even know why I am embroiled in such office politics. And not to mention some issues that have been brought up very discreetly these few weeks, many uncertainties in the near future. Rargh...

Work has been really busy too. Really really busy... Wanna see the CBD area of our cell culture room?

*"Tall buildings of the CBD" - look at the amount of cell culture waiting for us*

Ever seen liquid nitrogen? Well you can't really see liquid nitrogen since they evaporate into the gaseous state at very low temperatures... and liquid nitrogen is extremely cold and it kind of "bites". Everytime I go collect liquid nitrogen, I find it amusing that we have to let the tank take the lift back down on its own in the fireman lift! And I have to either climb down the stairs or take the passenger lift to the same floor, walk to the fireman lift and retrieve the tank. I just found out the reason recently. It's because that if the lift breaks down and you're in the lift with liquid nitrogen for a long period of time, you will begin to hallucinate. Cool huh?

*So you see smoke while refilling a liquid nitrogen tank*

Anyway, a sucky day should end with a great dinner to cheer myself up. Brought my family to Brotzeit in Vivocity last Friday to eat. A pity Ms SLC couldn't join us... next time next time. Yeah, back to Brotzeit. To initiate all of you, brotzeit is German for "Bread Time", from I have learnt, correct me if I'm wrong. It's basically a german beer bar and cafe. I wanted to go there because I wanted to try out their pork knuckles!! It's a dish that is not on the menu hence only those who know of it would order it. So friends, now you know that there is a pork knuckle dish, go ahead and try it! My parents loved it so much, that we had a 2nd order for it. Some of the food come with this side dish which is called Sauerkraut, which I have tried in Vienna and Prague before, kinda sour but nice, it's the white vegetable side dish in the pork knuckle picture below. The best part of the dinner was the beer, since I felt so frustrated at work so I thought a little alcohol with the nice ambience helped to chill me out a lil'.

*The star of the evening - Pork Knuckle*

*Sausage Platter*

*Salmon*

*Part of "Paulaner" reflected in my beer"

I think I'm really getting fatter... Too much eating this vacation! Everyday it's work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep.... (feels like expanding Binomial Theorem).

For those who haven't been to Jurong Point for donkey years, here's an update for all of you!! The basement 1 level has been extended!! Go towards where Ichiban Sushi was before, yes.. WAS. Now they have an extension that seems like a Japanese village. It's all Japanese restaurants in there, and Kuishin Bo is there too!!!! This Kuishin Bo is way much better than the outlet in Suntec City! Like seriously yes, way much better. The food is really too good to resist. I ate till I almost puked.

The moment I stepped down from the escalator, I turned into touristy mode and began taking pictures of the place.

*Don't know why it's called Shokutsu 10'*

*These soft shell crabs (ignore the shell food) are my new addiction*

*Never miss this*

*Pretty layout*

*Desserts!*

Hi Jack =)

Ever wondered why the action of seizing (a vehicle) by force is termed 'hijack' ?

Seriously, I have no idea why too.

Imagine me boarding a plane one day, and I spot my friend, whose name is Jack (or even Jac for my female friend), from far and I shout over, "Hi Jack (Jac)!!!"

Oh gosh...

Lots of RAGE within me now...

Some kuku just think they're the boss and everyone must do things according to his freaking wishes, but I just won't give in today. Bad mood? Yeah yeah, u think u're the only one with a bad mood. What crap. Go eat shit and die. Take your friggin' things back, and don't borrow anything from us.

I'll still be nice and dedicate a song to u... A song with an ending that is suitable for the mood now.
