Exams... and everything that comes (and ends) with it... Part II

Finally, my 3rd year in NTU is over. I don't know if you see the word "finally" as being a feeling of relieveness or one of trist. I guess it is more or less, a mix of both. Why do I say so, I guess slowly this post will tell.

Anyway, why is this post a Part II? Haha, simple, cos there was a first part already. Okay lame.

So after my first week of the examinations, which was Hell Week, the study period for my last 2 papers of the semester was much more relaxed (except for the day just before the paper of course). My last 2 papers were "NMR" and "Pharmacology", both of which are considered the only modules that I like relatively more out of the 5 modules that I had to take this semester. But still, I learnt a lot of things from all 5 modules, so I should not complain that much lah huh.

I was quite happy that the Pharmacology paper was not as difficult as expected. Recalling back, I was still worrying that I would not be able to memorised all 150 (it is this much right?) of drug names (no, you cannot find these names in an English dictionary) together with their functions, uses, and their side-effects. Really makes me wonder sometimes how we should really create a good balanced system in our bodies when something goes wrong. But I should confess that I felt extreme euphoria when I realised a day and a half before my paper that I could recall almost 90% without looking at the notes, because I seriously never ever thought I could do it. So I guess this paper is the only one that I felt happy after the exam.

Okay, too much words than expected for this entry liao... Let's look at some pictures :) Some like the first one is really "bo liao".

*Finally repairing the aircon*

*Why face the butt at me??*

*I see that Leon & Cyndi aren't big fans of vegetables*

*Bird's birthday cake made me sleepy after that.. urgh*

My happiest night during this whole month was the night when Freddo brought back alot of BBQ food from his family gathering! All of us looked like we were hungry ghosts, and the herbal chicken was really tasty! That has to be my favouritest already out of all the food on the table. Why is it favouritest? Because all are my favourite, and favouritest is more favourite than favourite. HAHA... Ok not funny.

*See that herbal cheeken at the right side, nice*

*Even watermelons tasted nice that night*

*Everyone loves supper*

While studying for NMR on Wednesday, Ant suddenly appeared beside my side, giving me a shock! For a moment, there were cold chills down my spine, suddenly got someone standing beside me like that. He just finished his Stem Cells paper that afternoon, and decided to come by and play with my handphone because he is considering buying it since the price of it dropped to $68. My goodness, $68 for K810i.... BUY!! Haha... And yes, I think by the time this entry is up, he should have gotten his new phone already.

Very funny things happen during the final week of the examinations as well... First I decided to vandalise something...

*I got so bored with Pharmaco that I vandalised Ruifang's Kaya Waffle*

And then something decided to give me a smile....

*Smile*

Was walking towards Hall 12 on Friday morning when I saw 3 separate groups of Yr 1s and 2s, ready for their final paper on that day. Wu Juan came out with a group of 3 people and was busy saying hi to me and crapping about something else and didn't notice the gap in the walkway ahead! I turned away and suddenly "AHHH!!" haha... she's gonna hate me forever for that because she says that she fell into the gap as she was talking to me, and although I didn't witness her falling, all the other Yr1s out at the walkway saw it! And I got scolded again when I asked her to fall again to let me see. Bah.

*The picture says it all*

Michelle was another funny person. She is one who is afraid of the dark and ghosts, so it was really easy to scare her you see... so during dinner we decided to talk about hostel ghosts. And Michelle literally threw her spoon on her plate cos she was so frightened (and she had to sleep alone that night w/o her roomie) haha.

Xiaopang was another joker. Want to eat supper but was afraid Jing Ying would find out. Diaoz.... But then when he ate, he totally enjoyed eating... so engrossed in his food and he kept praising the food while eating!

Hongda, whose index number for his Wireless module was "444" HAHA... and the guys decided to play a prank on him of course! They made a wallpaper for his laptop and it really covered his own screen.

Some of the yummy stuffs that kept me going during the study period...

*Jarren's Starburst*

*It's really chewy & yummy*

*I am not a big fan of this but it did keep me awake*

*Freddo Choco from Fred... I loved this when I was young*

*Shaved ice champagne grape at Canteen 2*

Yeah, so after this exams, the 3rd year NBS and the other final year students are all leaving - my favourite lotus bun head-buttdy-little eunuch Emily and Xiumei who always jumps out of her seat, literally, whenever one of us guys decide to walk into her room quietly to scare her and the others like Yew Hong, Kyon, Alvin, Hongda (the PBK), Vinz (the Pussy), Freddo (my food source), Leon (stop pointing ur middle finger at me), Colin (no more clown fishes to look at), Jarren, Kevin (always saying Chao Cheese Pie). But hey guys, all the best to your future endeavours! Keep in touch yeah!

*Sheng An, who isn't going to stay in hall next year*

*Xiumei*

*Yeo Si Boon... haha okay, Emily*

*Colin*

And to my SBS frens, we have all worked hard this semester! With all the mad rushing for the 3 or 4 crazy projects and having not enough time to properly revise for the first 3 papers, we have all made it through! So do enjoy your holidays and don't just spend too much time working be it in the lab or outside. We don't have much chance to enjoy our undergraduate days too hehe!

Of NMR Exam

Damn it, today's paper was the only one I had high hopes for, and it was dashed upon arriving at Section 2 of the paper. Answer any 3 out of 4 questions (each 15 marks). All 4 looked very difficult. Basket. Cui.

But the Chief Invigilator (CI) was a funny piece of crap though.

Before the paper started-
CI: Please be reminded that any communication devices such as handphones, pagers, (and then he came up with some crap stuffs which I couldn't catch, but got everyone else laughing) are to be switched off.

CI: If any of these devices are found to be switched on while the examination is in progress, you're liable to being expelled by the University..... from. (He was supposed to say from the University).

CI: Or alternatively, we may just shoot you.

Me: HAHA~~

I can't remember if there were any more funny stuffs.... but zzz damn sian diao now....

While paper is being collected-
Dr. Surajit: so how was it (with a grin on his face)?

Me: Okay, not too bad... (unwillingly)

Urgh... I hope the marking will be moderated in my favour :D

Shall take a bath now, then re-format my brain and prepare it to store 150 drug names and functions for Tuesday's final paper.

Exams... and everything that comes with it...

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I've been really busy these 2 weeks and haven't really been turning on my laptop too. I have never had such a crammed (is that how u spell it?) exam timetable before. School only officially ended the week before and together with all the due reports and projects, didn't really had as much time as before to prepare for the papers.

*Basket Adrian, ask you study, u happily YouTube-ing*

*My buttdy-cum-Little Eunuch being greedy*

*And she came down to study for once! Because XM had food poisoning and wanted to sleep*

*Ant, who looks like casting spells when he's studying*

*Jian Zhong - the Sensitive New Age Beng cum Teacher-to-be*

*The one who studies for less than 1 hr and goes to watch TV*

And where there is studying, there is always the Z-monster going around catching people....

*Just amazing she (i can't rmb who this is) didn't suffocate herself*

*I guess my friends from Hall 12 had a good time watching her sleep*

And recently, I keep getting prank calls (I don't know if it's prank, but it's still all the same I guess). Once there was this little small kid who called me and kept asking me to guess who she is. I was like huh.... And Liling who was at the same stall at the canteen with me took over the phone from me and I don't know what she did, she just passed the phone back to me and told me to say "Ok". Weird. And then the kid went on and on again, and I couldn't take it anymore, I just hung the phone up. I felt bad though, just a small kid afterall. Initially I thought it was Xiangting trying to play a prank on me, so I guessed that the kid was her nephew, Yongle! HAHA, but I was wrong... and Yongle is a boy. -_-"

This semester, I have 3 papers so close to each other.... here's the timetable:

So the first paper was BS412 - pure memory work for 10 sets of lecture notes. My brain was feeling shitified after that, and I (or rather almost all of us) had our second paper at 9am the next morning. No choice but to go back and immediately get back to trying to finish my revision for that paper... oh and did I mention that the second paper was another test of memory work? Well, at least for me, it was. It was supposed to be commonsense because it is Human Resource Management & Entrepreneurship, but I guess after reading Bio Science for too long, my brain had no more commonsense.

Oh, and I will always remember this night, because every single one in the function room was so stressed out. I never ever seen so many of us having consecutive papers like that before. Looking at everyone's faces.... I think everyone had the same stressed out feeling that evening. I guess those studying at home too, must have been pulling hair out from their heads. I can't believe I was friggin' able to wake at 5am to finish reading for my second paper that morning.

*This champion, Jarren, had two papers on Tues, and one at 9am on Wed*

*Dozing off*

*Don't know how to do past-year questions*

*Stressed Kyon - some mean pple says he stand still looks like he's sitting HAHA*

And no, I'm not busy taking photographs only.... I also got study!! See see....

*Got study one ok....*

And I just had my third paper of the week earlier this afternoon. It was a very bad paper in my point of view. I can't believe everyone was feeling so happy after the paper... except me. All had laughter and smiles on their faces. Hmm maybe they were happy that the third paper is finally over? I don't know. Anyway I came back to Hall 12 to look for Yew Hong and gang... and they were happily playing PES 2008 (another soccer game) on Kyon's PS2. And I joined in! Cos I was waiting for a friend anyway. These guys had 4 consecutive days of exams and yeah they deserve a break too, and anyway they are down to their very last paper in NTU! Urgh, won't get to see them anymore after they graduate. I cannot believe my batch would be the most senior batch already, so soon.

*Gaming in progress*

Went out to Raffles City to eat dinner after the paper. The dinner did make me forget about the paper for awhile, but when I reached my room, the horrible feeling came back again. I hope by the time I wake up, I can forget about it because I know it isn't the end of the world. Two more to go.... I hope NMR (being my favourite this semester) doesn't disappoint me and Pharmacology.... haiz another test of my memory skills. Shall do my best!
