Reminder: Earth Hour
I'm sacrificing some sleep time just to put this entry up, but it's for a meaningful cause - I don't mind. Warning... Preaching session ahead...
So to my friends or anyone out there who chances upon this, it is 29th March 2008 tomorrow and at 8pm, it is Earth Hour.
Do turn off your lights and other electrical appliances if not in use at 8pm for an hour in a bid to help reduce annual emission... Do your part to save Mother Earth.
But, you can do more than just an hour - make Earth Hour an everyday thing, part of your everyday life.
One thing I have tried to do is to not turn on my computer at all if I don't really need it. Dare to click on "Shut down" on your computers or laptop if you really don't have to use them (though I know it's kind of hard for students these days to do so, but I'm trying my best everyday too).
In these days when undergraduates always stay up late to study, lights in rooms are always turned on. So, make your life a luxury if you can, sleep early hehe. Wake earlier the next morning to study, if you don't have early lessons, with the Sun giving you natural light.
Although Singapore is not one of the participating cities in Earth Hour 2008, all of us belong to Mother Earth. So let us do our part too.

Stupid Game Show Answers - Dumb Luck
Got this from Adrian's blog.
Urgh, how I wish I'm as lucky as these people who give dumb answers and get them right.
And the Wheel of Fortune scene reminds me of the good ol' days when I always will watch it during dinner time.

Scary Stares
Never ever shout Chengxi's name as if you're calling out for a normal friend....
While waiting at Canteen A this morning......
*spotted Chengxi walking past me*
Me: Cheng Xi!!
*all the girls in the vicinity turned around SO suddenly, and was wondering if their necks broke at that speed of turning*
CX: Hey, 好吗?*puts his hands on my shoulders like any normal friends would do*
Me: Yeah.... *staring back at all the eyes that are getting wider* 要去上课啊?
CX: 对啊,有 lecture.
Me: Okok... 改天见
CX: Okay, Byebye
This incident totally reminds me of the other time when I met him on 179 and he waved at me, and all the girls and aunties on the bus suddenly turned and looked at me.
So, this is the power of fame...

新不了情
Was supposed to be studying in school but ended up watching 超级新光大道 when Anthony met both Kimberly and Shujing so excited over it.
These people, 蕭敬騰 and 楊宗緯, made 萬芳's 新不了情 sound so different yet touching. I remember having this song somewhere..... Gotta search for it. If not, I'll get it from someone... Ha.

楊宗緯超級星光大道踢館賽--新不了情
The 2nd video was especially funny at timepoint 2:56 when 陶晶莹 said "真个头,连奶头都有放松的感觉"

SBS Day 2008
This year's SBS Day was one of the best I guess, out of the 3 that I have seen so far. We had plenty of vendors setting up stalls in our school lobby. It's just amazing that some of my friends actually set up their own stall too - I just don't know why I never do that even though I have always wanted to try to. I guess what is stopping me from doing other things is just the fear of neglecting school work. Ah, but that's another story.
Back to SBS Day, the lunch catered was hontou ni oishii ne (really delicious). Not to say that the lunch that we had during yesterday's Life Sciences Symposium was very nice too. That's a total of 2 days of free lunch already. The crowd that throng over when the food was ready was damn scary. The TCM students also suddenly appeared out from their classrooms in the middle of their lessons to join the queue to grab the yummies.
There was free ice cream as well - those Orchard road motorbike style ones.
But the highlight of the whole event is definitely the performance section. I watched 3 of the performances since I had to rush for my lecture after that. We had Adeline (Yr 2 BS) who is also a professional magician, performing for us. She was also featured in The Business Times, I remember reading about her in another article before. Up next was Prof Mark Featherstone, who performed an A cappella - he performed 月亮代表我的心. I am really impressed by his performance. And the last performance I watched was a violin duet performance by Prof Willmann Liang and Yu Sheng - if I remember correctly, they performed a Violin Concerto No. 5 and Canon in D.
*SBS Day 2008*
*Vendors*
*The food was finished in just a short period of time*
*Adeline, the magician*
*Magic Show*
*Prof Mark Featherstone*
*Prof Alex Law was asked to perform impromptu - horrors & shocked look on his face*
But...! He promised to perform on D&D evening. Heh
*Prof Willmann Liang & Yu Sheng*
*Free Sarsi from Sponsor F&N - my only favourite carbonated drink*
*claps claps* All the performances were really good this year (and of course the free lunch too).

Cool beans!!
Wow... my dad was so lucky!! He alighted from the bus that he takes every evening to Outram Park MRT Station after work, as usual today. But today, it was special! The moment he stepped out of the bus.... "BANG!"
Damn, why wasn't I at Outram Park today?????? It must have been so interesting to experience hearing the gunshot from a police officer and with everyone in the area running about (imagining myself running about too... hmm).
Yeah, the police officer shot a man who was a suspect in a stabbing incident. According to the news that just appeared on CNA's Website, he charged at one of the police officers with a knife. The other officer discharged a single round in close range, and shot him in his chest.
Here's the news report.
Moving on to school life.... Finally the last quiz for this semester is over. I can finally concentrate on the reports and other assignments that I have to complete. I don't really feel like coming back on Sunday for the meeting, but I guess there's no choice. But it just felt like I had to give up a day that I can spend at home with my family, considering that I'm in Hall for 5 days a week.

哇!帮美女开门!
Okay, earlier on I was just passing Wenxin the printer cartridges that I helped her buy when this not-bad looking girl walked towards the entry gate to my block. She was searching for her access pass in her bag for awhile but couldn't find it.
So in a bid to offer some help.....
Me: 好啦,我要去帮美女开门了。
Wx: 拜拜。。。 哇!! 帮美女开门!!! (THANKS AH stupid shite)
Girl: *turns back and look*
Okay, I didn't know what to do but just to smile.......
Me: Forgot your card?
Girl: Yeah I can't find it.
At the lift lobby..... the bleddy lift was taking ages to come back down from the 5th floor. Not that I am trying to pick her up lah.... But the situation was so awkward at the lift lobby thanks to wenxin. So i tried to find a friggin' topic to break the eerie silence.
Me: This lift always takes forever to come down.
Girl: Yeah lor.
Me: Which floor do you live on?
Girl: 5th floor.
Me: Ah, then I don't suppose you would want to climb the stairs.
Girl: Haha yah, but if I want to I can lah....
Lift: Ding Dong... First Floor... Going up...
Back in my room.... I was telling my roomie what happened downstairs...
Steve: Oh I heard that while I was coming out from the toilet..... 原来是你啊。。。 HAHA
Me: -_-"
Okay, that's so much for my mini-adventure of the night. Thanks for listening/reading my short story. Please donate some money to support further story-telling. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Urgh~
What a start to the new term today. Things don't go well in the morning during lab session with the recording machine throwing a tantrum and some reagents leaking out from the mini tube I was holding on, and my stapler almost murdered someone too.
But as usual, studying in school is always great with Kimberly and Ant telling funny stuffs in the midst of studying. But still, things didn't go well. A heavy downpour came and we had to move from the benches outside of the SBS building and go into the Resource Room to study instead where it's so noisy. And big thank you to Ant for the papers.
Back in hall, many actions that are occurring are not making sense at all I think.
But then, the night did end off well still fortunately with the short chit-chats that I had with everyone I talked to on the 6th floor.

I'm bored, so I blog.
The new coffeeshop near my place just completed renovation. Apparently, a new management took over ownership and its name is changed to "3838". Initially I was wondering why they painted "38383838383838" all over, turned out that it's the name of the coffeeshop. But why "3838" I really have no idea too.

And this is also one of the rare times you get to see an uber clean chair at a coffeeshop.

Back in hall, whenever my roomie does this....
I get a free KTV session! Because I can sing along to his guitar music and he can't hear me since his earphones are blasting music into his ears.
Ok I'm bored...
