vaccination
i can't remember when was the last time i took a vaccination jab, before being administered the flu vaccination earlier today.
the nurse was telling me that there'd be this possibility of running a fever or flu after the jab, and it may last for two weeks maximum. i thought it was okay, but the moment i walked out from the medical centre, my whole left arm (where the jab was given) became numb and i felt so tired for the rest of the day while i was working.
i don't really recall suffering from such effects from past vaccinations.
anyway, i guess the next batch of NTU female students coming in have good looks and features, and i say so since i was like in a 'sea of 07/08 freshies' while awaiting my vaccination jab. but i guess they won't be studying in sbs.... sbs doesn't seem to have students of such good qualities haa! sorry if i offend anyone, but it really is true if u get the chance to compare (i'm not saying that the guys are fantastic either) haha.
i shld go catch a nap, my head feels so heavy now.... stupid vaccination.
this is the first time i see a rainbow within my reach, i.e. if i dared to let myself get w. and it's also the first time i can see a full rainbow, in the sense that i can see the rainbow from one end to the other end. a pity i couldn't get a picture of the full rainbow to show u guys, because the water disappeared when i wanted to take a picture of it.
but still there are 2 pictures of the rainbow taken...
two new family members are introduced into my room!!
introducing to you....
*leo and tin lok*
*leo, cos his fur resembes a lion's mane*
*tin lok (天乐) with shrek's ears*
damn cute rite?? arghh.. can't bear to leave them.. but tml's my last official day as resident of Hall 12.... but i'll still be back to take care of them heh...
going out these 2 days was fun yet tiring... haven't been shopping round for such a long time within a day.
and now mahjong's gonna be at my hse woohooo...
and oh yah, today's the first time i played with the glass elevator at the National Library. I wasn't really prepared for the descend from the 14th floor to the 1st... and after that i felt like puking due to the super heavy meal taken earlier.
*view from the elevator*
and anyway i saw a rainbow... from bedok reservoir till eunos link... never seen such a beautiful one for quite some time already... but from the pic taken, i can't really see the rainbow clearly anymore...
~ SPEECH ~ What Teachers Make, or Objection Overruled, or If things don't work out, you can always go to law school
By Taylor Mali www.taylormali.com
He says the problem with teachers is, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?"
He reminds the other dinner guests that it's true what they say about teachers:
That those who can, do; those who can't, teach.
I decide to bite my tongue instead of his and resist the urge to remind the other dinner guests that it's also true what they say about lawyers.
Because we're eating, after all, and this is polite conversation.
"I mean, you're a teacher, Taylor" "Be honest. What do you make?"
And I wish he hadn't done that(asked me to be honest) because, you see, I have a policy about honesty and ass-kicking: which is, if you ask for it, then I have to let you have it.
You want to know what I make? I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could. I can make a C+ feel like a Congressional medal of honor and I can make an A- feel like a slap in the face. How dare you waste my time with anything less than your very best.
You wanna know what I make?
I make kids sit through 40 minutes of study hall in absolute silence. No, you can not work in groups. No, you can not ask a question (so put your hand down) Why won't I let you go to the bathroom? Because you're bored and you don't really have to go, do you?
You wanna know what I make?
I make parents tremble in fear when I call home at around dinner time: "Hi, This is Mr. Mali, I hope I haven't called at a bad time,I just wanted to talk to you about something your son did today. he said, "Leave the kid alone. I still cry sometimes, don't you?" And it was the noblest act of courage I have ever seen.
I make parents see their children for who they are and who they can be.
You want to know what I make?
I make kids question. I make them criticize. I make them apologize and mean it. I make them write, write, write. And then I make them read. I make them spell definitely beautiful, definitely beautiful, definitely beautiful over and over again until they will never misspell either one of those words again. I make them show all their work in math. And then hide it on their final drafts in English. I make them realize that if you got this (brains) then you follow this (heart) and if someone ever tries to judge you by what you make, you give them this (the finger).
Let me break it down for you, so you know what I say is true: I make a difference! What about you?
hmm some ppl have been asking me wad's bankai these days haha.... so here's some videos of it, since i'm so free now, and i oso feel like watching these scenes again...

due to the cui-ness of my home desktop.... my dad has decided to get a new PC before the GST hike next month.
1st stop: Harvey Norman, Hougang Mall, 2nd Floor salesman: oh this is acer's latest bla bla bla bla bla bla..... (most explanation on the PC done) dad: bla bla bla bla bla bla.... got any other free gifts? salesman: oh becos this is a new model, we don't have free gifts for it at this promotional price dad: oh.... really ar? salesman: actually got lah, the keyboard and the mouse lor... dad & i: -__-" (like what the hell, who the hell buys a PC w/o the keyboard and mouse)
2nd stop: Challenger, Hougang Mall, 4th Floor dad: so this is the latest model bla bla bla bla... salesman: yup (and so he started with some simple explanation on the model wic we alr knew) dad: okay i want this one.... any free gifts? salesman: yup we'll give u this, this, this, this......... dad: ok deal.
Moral of the story: don't try to cheat your customers, especially when the customers are tech-savvy....
and the best thing is that the PC was $100 cheaper in Challenger and we got so much free stuffs... i guess we won't be stepping into Harvey Norman ever again.
a few MVs of the songs that I personally like from 燕姿's new album "逆光"
逆光
i have to say that this is the best song in the album, even though it's not really my favourite. Her vocals really enliven the whole song.
梦游
this song gives a dreamy kind of feeling... and it's one of the few beautiful songs without any drums used! nice...
咕叽咕叽
i think this song is a typical stephanie song haha... but it's still not too bad.
我怀念的
and of cos, my favourite song in the whole album ^_^ it's really a brilliant ballad and i'm hooked on it. and of cos since it's my favourite song, i shall include its lyrics haha...
arghhh..... pls don't ever take the Skoda cab because it's flag rate is $2.80 and the meter jumps so quickly tat a trip from boon lay to clementi costs $10 !! wad the hell.... the toyota cab i took last year only charged me slightly more than $5 can! heart pain =( but one good thing was that this cab cld fly at 150 km/h very quickly, whereas the toyota ones always go till 110 km/h max haha
anyway.... SILVER for ippt!!! woohoo~~~ $200... and plus allowance for half a day. but when comparing my results last year and this year, no improvements for my 2.4km run.... rrarrgghhh.... my legs were soooo heavy and i dunno why... geez. but nvm, silver is good enuff for now.. just gotta maintain this and mebbe when i grow older, i can get the gold award haha.
anyway, the electronic ippt system, isn't that intimidating afterall. there are tricks to it!!! muahaha...
